Basil Leaf - Thai Indochinese Indulgence

Basil Leaf located at 35, Jalan Damai, Off Jalan Tun Razak, 55000 Kuala Lumpur is the venue where we adjourned for lunch after the October leadership team meeting.

Basil leaf offers several dinning spaces and the ones where we were seated was just too dark for picture taking.

We started with Mieng Kam as the appertizer. To go with rice, we had:
  • banana flower with chicken salad which was unique and tasty
  • grilled lamb (did not quite like the smell of the lamb)
  • deep fried garoupa
  • fried kailan
  • mixed seafood tom yam soup (mild but tasty)
Overall, the food was okay but I find the taste too mild as it's catered more for Westerners.

Kiku-Zakura Japanese Restaurant

No. 3, Jln SS 20/27, 47400 Petaling Jaya. Selangor.

The Kiku-Zakura outlet in TCM is very cosy. We were seated at the Japanese style dining area.

Beef Katsu
My hubby ordered Beef Katsu set which came with rice, miso soup, salad and fruits. Shared some of the beef katsu but didn't like it because it's too dry and not much taste on it's own.

Sukiyaki
I ordered Sukiyaki Set which came with rice, salad, miso soup and fruits. The sukiyaki came with lots of thinly sliced beef, white cabbage, tofu, tong ooh, onions, spring onions, carrot, mushroom and an egg. Tasty but still on the sweet side even though I've asked for less sweet.

Squid with Cucumber
Our appertizer was pickled squid and cucumber. A little soury but great as an appertizer.

Green Tea
Total bill for the evening came up to RM74.75 including cold green tea.
