Kedai Kopi Kwong Hong - Gunung Rapat Ipoh

Kedai Kopi Kwong Hong
Jalan Gunung Rapat (opposite Gunung Rapat wet market)
31350 Gunung Rapat, Ipoh.

Yong Tau Foo
Last week, my family went back to Kulim for "Cheng Beng". On the way back to KL, we stopped at Gunung Rapat Ipoh for dinner.

More Yong Tau Foo
We wanted something light and ended up at Kwong Hong for noodles and yong tau foo.

More Yong Tau Foo
We ordered 2 different types of yong tau foo, soupy and fried stuffs. Both also taste good but the "must try" are the vegetable (water crest and lettuce) yong tau foo. Cannot get these in KL/Ampang.

Pan Mee
Sis and I share a bowl of pan mee. The soup is very tasty (cooked with lots of ikan bilis). Yum Yum.

The hor fun soup and hor fun kon lou are not bad too but I would highly recommend the pan mee.

Chok Chea
Apart from tasty yong tau foo and pan mee, their "leong fun" and "chok chea" drink are also highly recommended - must try!

Restaurant Taiping Ho Chiak

Restaurant Taiping Ho Chiak
28 Jalan SS 2/10 47300 Petaling Jaya,
TEL: 603-78766648

Restaurant Taiping Ho Chiak has nostalgic Nyonya theme with strong Taiping ambiance that reminds me of my childhood days when Dad used to take us to Taiping to visit my aunt.

We found this place by accident after a meal at Seeri Authentic Thai and had gone back twice since then. My hubby loves the food here because it reminds him of his Mum's cooking.

Ju Hu Char
Since it's only both of us, we go for their set meal. On our first outing, we had Ju Hu Char, Hae Kean, Nyonya sweet and sour fish, soup of the day (kiam chye th'ng), sambal belacan and white rice. All for RM28.00. Value for money and the dishes are actually quite good and portion is just nice for both of us.

Kiam Chye Ark
Our second set meal cost RM32.00.

Sambal Udang
It comes with Ju Hu Char, Lo Bak, Kiam Chye Ark, Acar Timun, Sambal Udang and Tong Sui. The dishes are good too except for the Lo Bak which is too hard.

We will definitely make this place our regular eating place as food is good and price is reasonable.

Seo Gung Korean Restaurant 西宫

Seo Gung Korean Restaurant 西宫
Address: No 21M & 23M,Jln SS2/67,47300 PJ,Selangor.
Tel: 03-78758868

Located at SS2 Petaling Jaya, Seo Gung offers variety of Korean BBQ food pleasure. This restaurant is managed by Hwang Sun Bae, a native Korean back in November 2006. One may also asked what does Seo Gung means....it's actually "The King of Kitchen Room" in Korean.

I've been to this restaurant a few times but Ive never blog obout it. Recently my hubby and I went back and we ordered the BBQ set which comes with sirlion beef, chicken ribs, Kimchi Chigae, steam egg, a variety of side dishes and two iced citron drink.

We do not have to cook it ourself. The meats are cooked in front of us on the charcoal stove in the middle of the table. The waiter does all the grilling while we sit back and enjoy watching our food being cooked.

After the meat is grilled, we put some garlic and the sauce provided on the lettuce leave together with the meat, roll it up and munch away. You may request for more lettuce leave as well as garlic. What's missing was the cut green chili which some Korean BBQ restaurant provides.

Kimchi Chigae
I like Kimchi Chigae, a spicy pickle cabbage soup. The version here is served with tofu and some meat. It had just right combination of sourness and spiciness. Yum!

Steam Eggs
The steam egg is also very yummy. Leave it to cool in the heated pot for additional flavor.

The side dishes were very tasty too. Both of us were so full even though we did not order rice. Another satisfying dinner. Our meal cost RM75.00.
