Tamarind Springs - Jalan Kolam Air Lama Ampang

Located within the slopes and greenery in Ampang, Tamarind Springs provides jungle luxe, natural setting dinning experience, popular with expats and locals alike.

The beautiful crafted restaurants on stilts (Tamarind Springs,Il Tempio, Mandi Mandi) is surrounded by everything that's green and natural.

When I was working in Ulu Kelang, I used to have lunch at Tamarind Springs with my colleagues. It is also where we will take our foreign guests.

When Kerstin and Patrick Knabben came to KL, we took them to Tamarind Springs for dinner.

Watermelon Salad
We ordered watermelon salad and steam wrapped lettuce as appetizer. Love the watermelon salad as it's very refreshing. This dish was recommended by Alvin during one of our lunches at Tamarind Spring. The lettuce wrap was great too.

The other dishes that we had:

Steamed Fish Fillet
Steam fish fillet...a dish that looks and taste like otak-otak, a Nyonya dish steamed in banana leaves. A must try!

Chicken with Cashew Nuts
Chicken with cashew nuts...unlike the usual Chinese "Kong Po" style chicken with cashew nuts, this dish is with yellow gravy. Not spicy at all but full of flavours. Great with white rice.

Stir Fried Mushroom
Stir fried mushroom...another simple but tasty dish to go with white rice.

We had a great evening. Both our guests enjoyed the food and restaurant. Thanks Melissa for the photos :)

PS: I also get to go back to GSK to see my buddies before dinner at Tamarind Springs :) Miss my buddies!
