Pantai Seafood @ Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara

Pantai Seafood Restaurant is located at Lot 13575, Jalan Cempaka PJU 6A, Kg Sg Kayu Ara, Petaling Jaya. Tel No: 603 – 7725 5099/1099.

Pantai Seafood Restaurant is under the same management as Unique Seafood (PJ) Sdn Bhd. My first time to this restaurant was on Monday and I went back again on Friday with friends for dinner. If you are completely clueless on what to order, the infamous “Jiu Da Ming Chai” (mandarin) or Nine signature Dish is featured on the first page of the menu, would be a good guide.
Poached Fresh Prawns

The first time I was here, I had the Pak Cheok Har (Poached Fresh Prawns), steam grouper fish, stir fried choy tum, steam Scotland clam with garlic, deep fried pork knuckle, fried noodles and fried rice.

On my second visit, we ordered deep fried pork knuckle, Yi Song Kai Lan (Kai Lan done two way), pig's maw and chicken in herbal sauce, steam river patin fish, tofu with beancurd and for dessert, we had black sesame "thong yun" with ginger sauce and fresh fruits.

Deep fried Pork Knuckle
The deep fried pork knuckle was served whole but once presented, it was taken away to be cut into bite sizes. The pork knuckle in Pantai Seafood is no where near the ones in New Paris Restaurant because the sauce is practically tasteless.

Yi Song Kai Lan
Yi Song Kai Lan is half deep-fried shredded "Kai-Lan" leaves with stir-fried Kai-Lan" stalks. I'd never tasted anything like that before. Find it pretty special, crunchy but I still prefer the usual stir-fried Kai Lan.

Pig Maw and Chicken in herbal Sauce
Pig maw (chee thow) and chicken in herbal sauce is pretty unique and tasty. My first time eating pig maw cooked in this sytle.

Steam River Patin
Steam river patin was great. No mud smell and the sauce is great with white rice.

Tofu with Beancurd
Tofu with beancurd is also not too bad. It's served with blanched baby Pak Choy.

Black Sesame Thong Yun
Black sesame Thong Yun with ginger sauce is my favourite.

Great company, great food and not too expensive. We are planning for the next get-together...Christmas dinner!
