ORCHARD VIEW Yong Tau Foo is one of three shops in Ampang Baru that makes Ampang famous for yong tau foo. Started at a house in the late 1970s, Orchard View moved to its present location in 1986. The restaurant is run by Daniel Hoh and his mother, Chuah Sew Hung.

We tried some of their specialties...
Yong Tau Foo

Fried Sui Kow
Yong tau foo including white soft tau foo (bean curd), sui kow (dumplings in soup and fried), various vegetables (bitter gourd, ladies' fingers, red chili, green chili and brinjal) with fillings and fish balls. For our party of 4, we ordered 30 pieces, a mixture of everything.

Paper Wrapped Chicken
Paper wrapped chicken (chee pau kai in Cantonese) - we ordered 2 pieces, one for Tan and one for myself. The chicken which is wrapped inside tracing paper remained tender and juicy.

Nan Yu Vegetarian Dish
We also try out their Nan Yu Vegetarian dish - cabbage, mok yu, red dates, foo chok and glass noodles cooked in Nan Yu. I must say it is really delicious.

Apart from Yong Tau Foo and their other speciliaties, they also serve assam laksa, curry laksa and many other dishes.
Our total bill for 4 pax came up to RM47.00 including drinks. I'll try their assam laksa the next time I visit as many people eating it. Looks delicious and smell great too.
